SAIL TURKEY / BODRUM TO FETHIYE 7 NIGHTS-8 DAYS GULET CRUISE
Highlights
Overview
Sail Turkey on the iconic Bodrum to Fethiye 7-night gulet cruise; one of the most sought-after Turkey sailing holiday routes.
Swim at Kara Ada, explore Datça and anchor in the Göcek Islands on a perfectly balanced sailing tour.
Small-group comfort, en-suite cabins and full night A/C set this Turkey sailing experience apart.
The Bodrum to Fethiye route is widely regarded as one of the most complete ways to sail Turkey in a single week. Beginning in the vibrant harbour city of Bodrum and finishing in the sheltered Gulf of Fethiye, this 7-night gulet cruise moves through contrasting landscapes, historic anchorages, and some of the clearest water along the Turkish coast.
This is not simply a transfer between two ports. It’s a carefully paced Turkey sailing holiday designed to showcase the full character of the Aegean. From the mineral-rich waters of Kara Ada to the calm inlets of the Bozburun Peninsula and the island-strewn channels of Göcek, each section of coastline feels distinct.
What makes this Bodrum to Fethiye gulet cruise stand apart is the balance. Time at sea without feeling rushed. Harbour evenings in Datça without overcrowding. Swim stops in protected bays where the water remains glass-like even in peak summer. The route flows naturally eastward, often benefiting from favourable sea conditions that create smooth sailing days.
Onboard, the experience reflects the same philosophy. Guest numbers are intentionally limited. All cabins include private en-suite bathrooms. Full night air-conditioning ensures proper rest after long days in the sun, a detail rarely standard across traditional Turkey sailing tours.
For travellers seeking a refined Sail Turkey experience that combines scenery, comfort, and authentic coastal culture, this itinerary consistently ranks among the most rewarding routes available. It offers the social ease of small group travel without sacrificing personal space, and the atmosphere of classic yacht charter Turkey tradition without the complications of organising a private vessel.
If you are choosing one Turkey sailing holiday to experience the Mediterranean properly, this Bodrum to Fethiye route sets the benchmark.

Itinerary
Boarding begins at 16:00 at Bodrum Marina, where you’ll meet the crew and settle into your private en-suite cabin aboard the gulet. Following a short route and safety briefing, departure is made towards Kara Ada (Black Island).
Our first swim stop takes place in the island’s clear, mineral-rich waters. It will be a calm introduction to this Bodrum to Fethiye gulet cruise. The volcanic shoreline and deep-blue bays offer a striking contrast to the whitewashed harbour we’ve just left behind.
Dinner is served on deck with views back towards Bodrum Castle as daylight fades. The evening is spent at anchor near Kara Ada, marking the first night of your Turkey sailing holiday.
Morning departure along the Datça Peninsula brings us to Knidos, positioned dramatically between two natural harbours at the tip of the peninsula. Time ashore allows you to explore the remains of ancient theatres, temples, and harbour structures that once marked this important classical city.
We continue to Palamutbükü, known for its exceptionally clear water and long, open bay — ideal for swimming and snorkelling directly from the yacht.
By late afternoon, arrival at Datça Harbour. The old town’s honey-coloured stone houses, small artisan boutiques, and waterfront cafés create a relaxed Aegean atmosphere. Evening free to explore before overnight stay in Datça.
Morning cruise to Bozukkale, historically known as ancient Loryma, where fortress walls still overlook the wide natural harbour. Guests may walk up to the ruins for panoramic views across the Aegean coastline before returning onboard.
Lunch is served while anchored in Bozukkale, followed by time for swimming.
Later in the afternoon, we continue to Kadırga Bay, a sheltered anchorage known for its clear, calm water. The evening is spent at anchor with dinner served on deck and an overnight stay in Kadırga Bay.
Following breakfast, we anchor at Kumlubük Bay for a refreshing morning swim in its clear, protected waters. Guests who wish may join an optional walk to the ancient ruins of Amos, where panoramic views stretch across the bay and the surrounding coastline.
In the afternoon, we pause at Cennet Adası (Paradise Island), a pine-fringed anchorage ideal for a relaxed break on deck before continuing towards Marmaris.
Arrival at Marmaris Harbour in the late afternoon. You may visit Marmaris Castle, explore the old town’s winding lanes, or enjoy dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants along the marina. For those interested, Marmaris also offers a lively evening scene with stylish bars and well-known clubs within walking distance of the harbour.
Overnight stay in Marmaris.
Morning departure brings us to Ekincik Bay, a wide and protected inlet surrounded by forested hills. The calm water here is ideal for swimming, snorkelling or paddleboarding directly from the yacht.
Guests may choose to join the optional excursion along the Dalyan River, navigating through reed-lined channels towards Iztuzu Beach (Turtle Beach). Along the way, the Lycian rock tombs carved high into the cliffs are clearly visible, followed by time at the region’s mineral-rich mud baths.
In the late afternoon, we return to the gulet anchored in Ekincik Bay. Dinner is served on deck as the light softens across the water, with overnight stay in the bay.
Today focuses on the sheltered waters of the Göcek Islands. Our first stop is Tersane (Shipyard) Island, where remains of old stone structures line the shoreline and clear water invites a morning swim.
We continue to Bedri Rahmi Bay, known for the fish motif painted onto the rock face, before anchoring at Cleopatra’s Bath (Hamam Bay). Here, partially submerged ancient walls can be seen beneath the surface, creating a distinctive swim stop along this Turkey sailing route.
In the late afternoon, we moor near Göcek, a stylish harbour town known for its marina-lined waterfront. Time ashore for a relaxed promenade and local meze before overnight stay in Göcek.
Morning cruise into Fethiye Bay, with a swim stop at Tarzan Bay, known for its clear cobalt water and shoreline rope swings. Time for a final swim and last photographs before the journey concludes.
In the afternoon, we berth at Fethiye Marina. The remainder of the day is free to explore the harbour area, enjoy Mediterranean cuisine at one of the waterfront restaurants or visit the nearby town centre.
For those who wish, Fethiye’s well-known bar street offers a lively but relaxed evening atmosphere. The easiest and fitting finale to your Sail Turkey experience.
Overnight stay in Fethiye Harbour.
Breakfast is served onboard before disembarkation in Fethiye Harbour. A final Turkish coffee on deck, farewells to the crew and fellow travellers, and onward travel arrangements begin.
Guests may choose to stay on and explore Fethiye’s old town, local markets and waterfront promenade, or continue towards nearby islands, beaches and sections of the Lycian Way walking trail.

All cabins include private bathrooms with a shower and toilet. Full night air-conditioning is available, which is something not always standard on traditional Turkey sailing tours. This makes this a more comfortable boutique experience.
Couples, solo travellers and small groups of friends aged 20-50 looking for a relaxed, small-group sailing experience. The atmosphere is quite social yet laid-back, focused on swimming, exploring coastal towns and good food and nice night life along the Turkish Riviera
Both directions offer similar highlights, but many guests enjoy starting in vibrant Bodrum and finishing in the sheltered Gulf of Fethiye. Sea conditions are often favourable eastbound, creating a smooth and enjoyable Turkey sailing experience.
If you love swimming in clear water, relaxed mornings on deck and discovering coastal towns by sea, this Bodrum to Fethiye gulet cruise will feel like your kind of holiday.
It’s perfect for couples, solo travellers and friends who want a sociable but easygoing Turkey sailing holiday — small groups, good food, plenty of swim stops and time to unwind.
No sailing experience is needed. Just bring a love of the sea, sunshine and that laid-back Sail Turkey mindset.
This Bodrum to Fethiye gulet cruise is operated on a traditional wooden yacht with a maximum of 16 guests. Cabins are private and include en-suite bathrooms.
The captain may adjust the route or specific anchorages depending on weather and sea conditions to ensure a smooth and safe Turkey sailing experience.
The Dalyan River excursion is optional and payable locally if you choose to join. All swim stops are weather dependent.
Air-conditioning is available in all cabins, including overnight use, in line with marina regulations and environmental guidelines.
Boarding is via marina pontoons and swimming is directly from the yacht; a moderate level of mobility is recommended to fully enjoy this Sail Turkey itinerary.
We recommend bringing a soft-sided suitcase or duffel bag, as cabin storage space is compact and hard-shell cases can be difficult to store onboard.
Light summer clothing, swimwear, sunglasses, a hat and high-factor sunscreen are essential for a Turkey sailing holiday. A light jacket or sweater is useful for cooler evenings in spring and autumn.
Most guests spend time barefoot onboard, but non-slip sandals are practical for moving around the deck.
Bath towels are provided for cabin use. Bringing a separate beach towel for swim stops is advisable.
Please bring your own toiletries and any personal medication you may need.
Drinks from the onboard bar are charged separately and settled at the end of the cruise. There is no need to carry large amounts of cash during the week. Guests typically withdraw from an ATM in Bodrum or Fethiye before disembarkation to settle their bar account.
Mobile signal is available in most coastal areas and harbours, but Wi-Fi should not be relied upon while at sea. This Sail Turkey route is best enjoyed as a chance to disconnect and slow down.
The Bodrum to Fethiye route follows largely protected waters, making it suitable even for guests new to Turkey sailing. If you are sensitive to motion, consider bringing appropriate medication just in case.
Pack light, bring your sense of adventure, and let the coastline do the rest.

It's my second year doing a sailing cruise with Gulet Cruises and I absolutely love it!
The crew is always very good, the food is to die for, the cabins are very clean and large enough if you have to share with someone. There are different spaces where you can relax or sunbathe on the boat, the stops in the different bays are always beautiful and you can go on the land for short excursions in cute villages or climb a hill for a sunset!
Already looking forward to my 3rd trip next year!
