SAIL TURKEY / FETHIYE TO BODRUM 7 NIGHTS-8 DAYS GULET CRUISE
Highlights
Overview
Sail Turkey along the spectacular Fethiye to Bodrum coastline on a refined 7-night Turkey sailing holiday.
Swim in Göcek’s turquoise bays, explore ancient shores and unwind aboard a premium gulet.
En-suite cabins, full night A/C and small groups make this Turkey sailing experience truly exceptional.
Some coastlines are beautiful. Others are made for sailing.
The stretch between Fethiye and Bodrum sits firmly in the second category. This is where Turkey sailing reveals its full character; protected gulfs, pine-covered peninsulas, ancient Lycian history and harbours that still function as working maritime towns rather than staged resorts.
This 7 night Turkey sailing holiday follows one of the most naturally balanced routes in the Eastern Mediterranean. Departing from Fethiye, the itinerary moves west through the Göcek Islands, Ekincik Bay, the Bozburun Peninsula and Datça before arriving into Bodrum. Each section of coastline feels distinct. Some days defined by quiet anchorages and deep-blue swimming stops, others shaped by small harbour towns and archaeological remains visible from the water.
Unlike larger commercial operations, this is a boutique-style Sail Turkey experience. Guest numbers are intentionally limited. Every cabin has a private en-suite bathroom. Full night air-conditioning is included — something rarely standard on traditional gulet cruises. The atmosphere onboard is relaxed, international and comfortably social without ever becoming a party boat.
Meals are freshly prepared and served on deck. Swim stops are unhurried. Evenings are either spent in calm natural bays or selected harbour towns such as Datça or Bodrum, where you can step ashore without feeling processed through a tour schedule.
For travellers from Australia, the UK, North America or South Africa seeking a structured but authentic way to explore the Turkish coastline, this route consistently stands out. It combines scenery, history, comfort and genuine sailing culture in a way that few Mediterranean itineraries manage.
This is not a rushed island-hopping schedule. It’s a properly paced coastal journey; the kind of Turkey sailing experience that leaves guests quietly planning their return before the week is even over.

Itinerary
Boarding begins at 15:00. Once settled, you’ll meet your sailing host and crew before departing along the Fethiye coastline. A short introductory cruise brings us to Tarzan Bay, where clear turquoise water sets the scene for the first swim of the week.
Dinner is served on deck as the sun sets over the Mediterranean, followed by a relaxed evening under open skies on the foredeck. A calm and memorable start to your Sail Turkey experience.
Cruise through the Göcek Islands aboard your gulet, moving between sheltered bays and clear-water anchorages. Swim above the submerged ruins at Cleopatra’s Bath (Hamam Bay) before continuing to Bedri Rahmi Bay, where the well-known fish motif is painted onto the rock face.
Later, snorkel around Tersane (Shipyard) Island, then head towards Göcek town for an evening ashore. Harbour strolls, waterfront cafés and classic Mediterranean delicacies marking another standout day of your Turkey sailing holiday.
Anchor in Ekincik Bay, a calm inlet known for its clear water and sheltered setting. Ideal for swimming or paddleboarding straight from the stern platform.
Guests may also choose the optional Dalyan River excursion, cruising past reed-lined channels to Iztuzu Beach (Turtle Beach), spotting Caretta caretta turtles, viewing the Lycian rock tombs carved high into the cliffs, and visiting the region’s mineral-rich mud baths.
Return to the gulet in the late afternoon for dinner on deck, with fresh seafood served as the light softens over the Mediterranean.
Start the day with a swim stop at Kumlubük Bay, known for its clear, calm water. Guests who wish can join an optional walk up to the ancient ruins of Amos, where elevated views stretch across the entire bay and coastline.
Later, pause at Cennet Adası (Paradise Island) for a relaxed afternoon break beneath pine-covered hills before cruising into Marmaris Harbour. Explore the Ottoman-era caravanserai, narrow old-town streets and the lively waterfront that has made Marmaris a standout stop on many Turkey boat tours.
Depart Marmaris Harbour in the morning and cruise towards Kadırga Bay, where a swim stop allows time to enjoy the clear Aegean water or relax on deck.
In the afternoon, continue to Bozukkale (ancient Loryma) and anchor in its wide, naturally protected harbour. The evening is spent either exploring the quiet shoreline and fortress ruins or unwinding onboard before dinner is served under open skies.
Begin the day at Palamutbükü, known for its exceptionally clear water and long, open bay, ideal for an early swim.
Cruise onward to Knidos, where you can walk among the remains of ancient temples, theatres and ongoing archaeological excavations at this historic headland marking the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean.
By late afternoon, arrive in Datça, with time to explore the honey-toned streets of the old town, browse small boutiques and enjoy a sunset drink before a peaceful overnight stay.
Early departure brings us to Kara Ada (Black Island) for a final swim stop in its strikingly clear, deep-blue water before breakfast.
By late morning, we round the peninsula and enter Bodrum’s twin harbours, where whitewashed streets, the medieval castle and lively waterfront restaurants define the skyline.
The evening offers time to enjoy the harbour atmosphere and mark the end of your Turkey sailing journey in one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic yacht charter ports.
A final Turkish breakfast on deck, a few farewells to new friends, and disembarkation in Bodrum. From here, you might visit the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, wander through the old town, or take a ferry across to a nearby Greek island.
A week of gulet life comes to a close — and for many, it’s just the beginning of planning a future Turkey private yacht charter.

No sailing experience is required. This is a fully crewed gulet cruise operated by an experienced captain and professional crew. You simply relax and enjoy the route. Whether you’re new to Turkey sailing or have chartered yachts before, this itinerary is designed to be comfortable and accessible.
All cabins are private and include an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. Cabins are typically double or twin configuration. This is not a shared dorm-style boat — it’s a boutique Sail Turkey experience with a maximum of 16 guests onboard.
Daily breakfast, lunch and most dinners are included. Drinks from the onboard bar are charged separately and settled at the end of the cruise. Optional excursions, such as the Dalyan River and Kaunos visit, are payable locally if you choose to join.
Safety always comes first. The captain may adjust anchorages or timings due to weather or sea conditions. The Fethiye to Bodrum sailing tour follows mostly sheltered waters, and alternative bays are always available along this coastline, ensuring your Turkey sailing experience remains smooth and enjoyable.
This route is ideal for travellers who enjoy being on the water, swimming daily and exploring coastal towns at a relaxed pace. It suits couples, solo travellers and friends looking for a structured yet easygoing Turkey sailing holiday without a party-boat atmosphere.
If you’re comfortable stepping on and off a yacht, appreciate small-group travel and prefer boutique comfort over large cruise ships, this Sail Turkey experience is likely a very good fit.
This is a cabin-based Sail Turkey itinerary operated on a traditional gulet yacht with a maximum of 16 guests. Cabin layouts (double or twin) are allocated based on availability.
Air-conditioning is available in all cabins, including overnight use, but operating hours may vary slightly depending on weather conditions and local marina regulations.
The captain may adjust the daily route or anchorage points due to weather, sea conditions or harbour traffic to ensure guest safety and comfort.
The Dalyan River, Kaunos and Iztuzu Beach visit is optional and payable locally if guests choose to join the excursion.
This Turkey sailing holiday involves boarding via marina pontoons and swimming directly from the yacht; moderate mobility and comfort around water are recommended.
To help you prepare for your Sail Turkey experience, here are a few practical notes before you travel:
Soft-sided luggage or a duffel bag is strongly recommended, as storage space in cabins is compact. Large hard-shell suitcases can be difficult to store onboard.
Lightweight summer clothing, swimwear, a hat, sunglasses and high-factor sunscreen are essential for a Turkey sailing holiday. Evenings can be cooler in spring and autumn, so a light jacket or long-sleeve layer is advisable.
Non-slip sandals or deck-friendly shoes are useful, and most guests spend time barefoot onboard.
Bath towels are provided for cabin use. Bringing a separate lightweight beach towel for swim stops is recommended. Basic toiletries are available onboard, but we suggest bringing personal essentials.
Drinks from the onboard bar are settled at the end of the cruise. Most guests prefer to withdraw cash from an ATM in Bodrum or Fethiye before disembarkation, so there is no need to carry large amounts of cash throughout the week.
Wi-Fi may be available in certain harbours but should not be relied upon at sea. This Turkey sailing experience is best enjoyed with limited screen time and full coastal immersion.
If you are prone to motion sensitivity, consider bringing suitable medication, although this route follows sheltered waters and conditions are generally calm.
Reusable water bottles are encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Preparing simply and packing light will ensure you can fully relax and enjoy every moment of your Turkey sailing holiday.

It's my second year doing a sailing cruise with Gulet Cruises and I absolutely love it!
The crew is always very good, the food is to die for, the cabins are very clean and large enough if you have to share with someone. There are different spaces where you can relax or sunbathe on the boat, the stops in the different bays are always beautiful and you can go on the land for short excursions in cute villages or climb a hill for a sunset!
Already looking forward to my 3rd trip next year!
