Carefully curated route flow with extended time at the Sunken City, Kaş, and Kaleköy, not a compressed “tick-the-box” itinerary.

Overview

Sail Turkey on the spectacular Fethiye to Kekova 6-night gulet cruise, where turquoise bays meet ancient Lycian shores.
Swim above the Sunken City, explore Kaş and anchor beneath Kaleköy’s hilltop fortress.
Boutique comfort, en-suite cabins and full night A/C turn this Turkey sailing holiday into something unforgettable.

Some coastlines are admired from land. The stretch between Fethiye and Kekova is meant to be experienced from the water.

This 6-night Fethiye to Kekova gulet cruise follows one of the most visually dramatic sections of the Turkish Riviera, where pine-covered cliffs drop into turquoise bays, ancient Lycian cities sit above quiet harbours, and the Sunken City of Kekova lies just beneath the surface.

What sets this route apart is contrast. Sheltered anchorages near Göcek give way to the wide, open views of the Lycian coast. You swim in Aquarium Bay before walking through the stone streets of Kaş. You glide above the submerged ruins of Kekova before anchoring beneath the fortress village of Kaleköy.

This is a Turkey sailing holiday with substance. It blends adventure and comfort in equal measure. Daily swim stops, historic exploration, and boutique onboard living. Our gulet carries a limited number of guests; every cabin is en-suite, and full night air-conditioning ensures proper rest after long sun-filled days.

Unlike high-volume coastal tours, this Sail Turkey itinerary is paced deliberately. Time to swim. Time to explore. Time to party ashore. Time to sit quietly on deck as the light changes across the limestone cliffs.

If you’re looking for a route that feels both raw and refined, where adventure is balanced by comfort. The Fethiye to Kekova sailing experience delivers exactly that.

Itinerary

Boarding begins in Fethiye Harbour during the afternoon. Once cabins are sorted and bags dropped, we ease out of the marina and head into open water; the first stretch of real coastline in front of us. Our opening swim stop is at Tarzan Bay. Rope swings, clear turquoise water and that first proper jump off the stern platform. No gentle introductions — this is where the week properly starts. As the sun drops behind the hills, dinner is served on deck with music playing and drinks flowing. The atmosphere is social, easy and international. The first night sets the tone for a strong Sail Turkey week.

Overnight at anchor in Tarzan Bay.

After breakfast, we cruise towards Butterfly Valley, a narrow gorge backed by steep limestone cliffs. You can swim ashore or follow the 45-minute trail inland to reach the small waterfall hidden inside the valley.

We continue to Ölüdeniz, Blue Lagoon, one of the most recognisable bays on the Mediterranean. Lunch is served while anchored in its bright, shallow water. It is a perfect spot for long swims and paddle time.

For those wanting something bigger, optional tandem paragliding from Mount Babadağ can be arranged. Launch high above the coastline and land back near the lagoon before rejoining the yacht. Easily one of the standout moments of this Turkey sailing holiday.

In the afternoon, we head to St Nicholas Island (Gemiler Island). Here you can try water sports, grab fresh gözleme from the shoreline café, hike up to the Lycian ruins scattered across the island, and watch the sunset from the hilltop overlooking Fethiye Bay.

Overnight at anchor near St Nicholas Island.

The morning begins at Aquarium Bay, named for its exceptionally clear water and ideal snorkelling conditions. Anchor drops, music comes on, and it’s straight into the sea before breakfast fully settles.

After lunch onboard, we cruise into Kaş, one of the most characterful stops along the Lycian coast. Afternoon in Kaş is yours to shape. You might drift through its narrow hillside lanes, pause at the sea-facing amphitheatre carved into the rock, discover small designer ateliers and craft shops, or simply settle into a terrace spot overlooking the harbour with something cold in hand.

For those looking to go deeper, optional scuba diving in Kaş can be arranged. The area is known for clear visibility, reefs and occasional wreck sites, making it one of the standout dive locations on this Turkey sailing route.

Dinner is served onboard before the evening unfolds. Kaş offers a relaxed but lively atmosphere — rooftop bars, live music spots and late-night venues all within easy walking distance of the harbour.

Overnight in Kaş.

Breakfast is served in the harbour before departure, with time to pick up essentials in Kaş if needed — sunscreen, snacks or small local finds.

Our first swim stop is Limangazi Bay, a sheltered stretch of clear water just outside Kaş. Time to swim, unwind on deck or simply enjoy the slower rhythm of the coastline.

We continue east towards Üçağız, a traditional fishing village that still feels authentic and understated. Its narrow waterfront lanes are lined with stone houses, and ancient Lycian sarcophagi appear unexpectedly between buildings and along the shoreline, some even partially submerged in the sea.

As evening approaches, we anchor in Aperlai Bay, surrounded by quiet hills and the remains of an ancient Lycian settlement. Dinner is served onboard with the bay turning copper under the setting sun.

Overnight in Aperlai Bay.

This morning we cruise along the protected waters of Kekova, home to the famous Sunken City. From the deck, you can clearly see the outlines of ancient Lycian walls, staircases and foundations beneath the surface. A rare moment where history feels almost within reach. Swimming directly over the ruins is not permitted due to heritage protection, but we anchor nearby for a swim in equally clear water.

Across the channel lies Simena (Kaleköy), a small hilltop village accessible only by boat. You can walk up to the medieval castle for panoramic views over the Kekova region, passing stone houses and ancient sarcophagi along the way. A stop for homemade ice cream at the harbourfront café is almost a tradition here.

In the afternoon, we continue to Gökkaya Bay, a wide natural anchorage known for calm conditions and clear swimming spots. This area is also a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles, so keep watch while in the water.

After dinner onboard, the evening is yours. Unwind on deck under the stars or take a short boat ride to Smugglers Inn for a lively night out.

Overnight in Gökkaya Bay.

After breakfast, we cruise towards Demre, gateway to the ancient city of Myra. Guests may join the optional land excursion to explore the impressive Lycian rock-cut tombs and the Church of St Nicholas — a site closely linked to the historical figure behind Santa Claus.

Following time ashore, we return to the gulet and continue along the coast, pausing at a secluded cove for swimming and snorkelling in clear, open water.

In the late afternoon, we head towards Fırnaz Bay, one of the most sheltered anchorages near Kalkan. Dinner is served onboard as the bay settles into evening calm, with time to relax on deck beneath open skies.

Overnight in Fırnaz Bay.

The final morning begins with a swim stop at Gemiler Beach, a sheltered bay framed by pine and olive-covered hills. Time for one last dip, paddle session or simply relaxing on deck in the sun. Water sports are available, and guests may also choose to join an optional visit to Kayaköy, the preserved Greek ghost village located inland from Ölüdeniz.

After lunch onboard, we cruise back into Fethiye Harbour. Disembarkation takes place in the afternoon, allowing you to continue your travels or spend additional time exploring Fethiye’s waterfront, cafés and evening atmosphere at your own pace.

Yes. This route is one of the most social Sail Turkey itineraries without feeling forced. Solo travellers often join and quickly connect over swim stops, sunset drinks and optional adventures like paragliding or diving. You’ll have your own cabin space but plenty of chances to meet people.

Both, and you choose the level. You can paraglide over Ölüdeniz, dive in Kaş or hike up to Kaleköy castle… or stay onboard and swim, read and reset. This Turkey sailing holiday gives you real adventure options without sacrificing comfort.

Absolutely. Cruising slowly above the submerged Lycian ruins is one of the defining moments of this Fethiye to Kekova sailing tour. It’s protected, atmospheric and unlike anything else along the Mediterranean coast.

Smaller guest numbers, full night air-conditioning, en-suite cabins and a carefully balanced itinerary. Many routes focus only on party vibes or only on relaxation. This one blends adventure, history and boutique comfort in one smooth Turkey sailing experience.

If your idea of a great holiday includes swimming in open turquoise water before breakfast, exploring ancient ruins by afternoon and watching the sun set from the deck of a gulet, this Fethiye to Kekova route is likely a perfect match.
It suits travellers who want energy without chaos but social evenings in Kaş or Gökkaya, optional paragliding over Ölüdeniz, diving in clear Mediterranean waters, but still the comfort of en-suite cabins and proper overnight rest with full night a/c.
You don’t need sailing experience, just a love for the sea and a willingness to spend your days outdoors. If you’re looking for a Turkey sailing holiday that balances adventure, history and boutique comfort rather than a resort stay with boat transfer, this Sail Turkey experience delivers exactly that.

This Fethiye to Kekova gulet cruise is operated on a traditional yet premium yacht with a maximum of 16 guests, ensuring space on deck and a relaxed onboard atmosphere.
The captain may adjust anchorages or timing depending on sea and weather conditions to keep your Turkey sailing experience smooth and safe.
Visits to Myra, scuba diving in Kaş and paragliding in Ölüdeniz are optional activities and payable locally if you choose to join.
The Sunken City of Kekova is a protected heritage site; swimming directly over the ruins is not permitted, but nearby swim stops are included.
This itinerary involves daily swim stops and boarding via marina pontoons or dinghy transfers, so a moderate level of mobility is recommended.

Cabin space is cleverly designed but not made for oversized hard-shell suitcases. A soft duffel or backpack works best and is much easier to store.
Think light layers, swimwear (you’ll use it daily), comfortable sandals and something easy to throw on after sunset.
This coastline delivers proper Mediterranean sunshine. High-factor sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are not optional extras; they’re survival tools on a Turkey sailing holiday.
Reusable water bottles are also a smart move.
Drinks from the onboard bar are settled at the end of the cruise. There’s no need to carry large amounts of cash all week. Most guests withdraw from an ATM in Fethiye before disembarkation to settle their tab easily.
You’ll spend most of your time barefoot onboard. Non-slip sandals are useful for moving around the deck or stepping ashore. Leave the heels at home. This is a Sail Turkey experience, not a red carpet event.
Mobile signal appears in most harbours but disappears at sea, which is usually a good thing. This route is designed for saltwater, sunsets and proper switch-off time.
The Fethiye to Kekova route follows largely protected waters, so conditions are generally calm. If you’re prone to motion sensitivity, bring something just in case, though most first-time Turkey sailing guests are pleasantly surprised.
Pack smart, stay curious, and let the coastline do the heavy lifting.

It's my second year doing a sailing cruise with Gulet Cruises and I absolutely love it!
The crew is always very good, the food is to die for, the cabins are very clean and large enough if you have to share with someone. There are different spaces where you can relax or sunbathe on the boat, the stops in the different bays are always beautiful and you can go on the land for short excursions in cute villages or climb a hill for a sunset!
Already looking forward to my 3rd trip next year!
